Born in Milan, Italy, Carenza emigrated to the United States following World War II. She was a longtime parishioner of Ascension Roman Catholic Church, in New Milford.
She also worked for many years as a dental technician at Madison, Fields, Lincoln Labs in Clifton.
Carenza is survived by her children, Janet Leger and her husband Robert, and Wayne Carenza and his wife Nora; grandchildren Lauren, Carolyn and John; a great-grandson Connor; sister Angela; and many nieces, nephews, family members and friends, both in the United States and Italy.
She was preceded by her husband, Celestino Carenza, and her siblings Rita, Ambrogio and Umberto.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 24, at the Volk Leber Funeral Home, 268 Kinderkamack Rd., in Oradell. The funeral service will be at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday from the funeral home, then to Ascension Roman Catholic Church for a 9:30 a.m. mass.
